What is TED?
TED – TECHNOLOGY ENTERTAINMENT DESIGN, is a global non-profit platform dedicated to sharing impactful ideas through short and powerful talks. Originated from the fields of technology, entertainment and design, it now includes a wide range of topics like science, education, innovation, culture and personal growth. The motto – "Ideas Worth Spreading", TED brings together thinkers, changemakers, and storytellers from around the world to inspire and promote meaningful conversation.
What is TEDx?
TEDx is a locally organized event inspired by the global TED movement. Curated by passionate volunteers, each TEDx event follows TED's official guidelines while creating a unique experience for its own community. The "x" stands for independently organized. TEDx brings together people, stories, and ideas that spark conversations, build connections, and inspire change. With speakers from diverse fields, no commercial or political promotions, and no paid speakers, every TEDx event stays true to its purpose of sharing "ideas worth spreading." The format blends live talks with selected TED content to create a powerful and engaging experience.
What is TEDx IIIT Kottayam?
TEDx IIIT Kottayam is an independently organized TED event created in the spirit of TED's mission of sharing "ideas worth spreading." Guided by TED's global principles yet curated uniquely for the IIIT Kottayam community, the event serves as a platform where innovators, thinkers, creators, and changemakers come together to inspire and spark meaningful conversations. Organized entirely by passionate student volunteers, TEDx IIIT Kottayam features a blend of live talks from diverse speakers and carefully selected TED content. With no commercial or political influence and no paid speakers, the event remains dedicated to authentic storytelling, powerful ideas, and community-driven inspiration. TEDx IIIT Kottayam aims to ignite curiosity, build connections, and encourage fresh perspectives within and beyond the campus.
